NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Looking for your own Christian Grey is about to get a lot easier. FetL, a brand-new dating app for kink enthusiasts, has just been released worldwide. In its beta testing period, the app had approximately 8600 users.
The first two films in the 'Fifty Shades' series have piqued many people's interest in the BDSM lifestyle. Iris Li, one of the co-founders of FetL, decided to explore the lifestyle after seeing Fifty Shades Darker. She educated herself through various kinky websites and even some YouTube content, but was unsuccessful in her attempts to find like-minded people. This gave her the idea to create a dating app for kinky people, and FetL was born.
"When I'd meet people in clubs, they almost always told me that they found it difficult to meet people who shared their fetishes," Li explained. "This isn't an uncommon problem in the community. Although Fetlife has a very large subscriber base, they don't have an app available through GooglePlay or Apple. I saw an untapped market, and decided to do something about it."
The first global version of FetL is simple - the app combines the familiar features of Grindr and Tinder. Once users log in, there is a GPS based feature to aid in location based searches, and a 'Spark' feature, which is similar to Tinder, in that you can swipe to like or dislike a user. Also, the messages feature also allows users to send voice messages as well as traditional text-based messages. This is a huge bonus for kink-minded people, to be able to do a lot of filtering without having to leave the app.
FetL is now available worldwide for download through the Apple AppStore.
