Fertility Awareness and Infertility Prevention: Brenda Strong & the American Fertility Association to Host Media Luncheon in Manhattan
NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 10, 2010, Celebrity Spokesperson Brenda Strong and American Fertility Association Executive Director, Ken Mosesian, will co-host a media luncheon to introduce their efforts to combat infertility to media in the fields of health and wellness, fertility and pregnancy, lifestyle, news, and more. In an intimate setting at the Rouge Tomate in Manhattan, guests will dine on local cuisine while learning about the challenges -- and solutions -- that go along with trying to start a family.
"The AFA's purpose is to provide comprehensive family building education," says Brenda Strong, actor and creator of Strong Yoga™ 4Fertility. "I wanted to lend my support to this organization because they are a rich resource for infertility prevention, family building and reproductive health which helps to bring the conversation out of the closet and into the mainstream, dispelling the stigma of shame and fear so often associated with reproductive difficulties."
"Our goals include helping young women navigate career, education and family with the biological clock ticking in the background, assisting those trying to conceive or adopt, reaching young men with impactful messages about reproductive health, and supporting the family building efforts of the lesbian and gay community," says Ken Mosesian.
In addition to hearing about the AFA's various initiatives, guests will learn about the Fertility Ball® and Strong Yoga™ 4Fertility, a proprietary approach to teaching yoga for fertility created by Brenda Strong. This program uses the ancient healing wisdom of yoga and applies it to the modern problem of reproductive difficulty. Using the specific postures and breathing techniques to open the body from the inside out, Strong Yoga™ 4Fertility helps to release tightness in muscle and connective tissue, increase blood flow to reproductive organs and invites the mind and body to facilitate its own healing capacity.
Later that evening, the AFA will recognize the media's role in family building and infertility. Illuminations NYC -- an event celebrating the accomplishments of individuals and organizations that have made a positive impact in the fields of reproductive health, family building and fertility, will take place November 10th at 6:00pm at Midtown Loft and Terrace, 267 Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan.
