Fenwick Elects Three New Partners Practicing Litigation and Corporate Law
SEATTLE and SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fenwick & West today announced the election of three attorneys to the partnership, effective January 1, 2013. The new equity partners are James Evans, who is based in Seattle, and Ryan Marton and Tyler Newby, who are based in San Francisco. They represent the Corporate and Litigation practices in areas ranging from life science focused capital markets transactions to high technology patent litigation and regulatory and criminal investigations.
"Jamie, Ryan and Tyler are dedicated professionals who excel not only in their respective areas of law but also in their service to our clients, the firm and their communities," said Fenwick Managing Partner Kate Fritz. "We congratulate this exemplary group on their election to the partnership and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and succeed alongside their clients."
"Electing Jamie to the partnership is a testament to the depth and continued success of Fenwick's Seattle office and the close integration of the office with the entire firm," said Seattle Managing Partner Stephen Graham. "It's exciting to see the office provide a platform for talented attorneys to develop nationally competitive, top-tier practices." Evans joined Fenwick shortly after the firm opened its Seattle office in 2008 and is the first Seattle-based associate to be elected to the partnership.
"Tyler's and Ryan's promotions are a reflection of the strength of their individual practices, as well as the firm's continued success in growing the depth and breadth of our IP litigation capabilities," stated Litigation Group Chair Darryl Woo. "Ryan focuses exclusively on IP litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation, adding to our already strong and nationally acclaimed practice in those areas. Tyler's practice focuses on privacy, IP and other complex technology litigation cases, rounded by his experience trying IP and Internet-related criminal cases as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. While with Justice, Tyler also helped develop initiatives for the investigation and prosecution of cross-border IP investigations with China, which adds to our growing practice representing technology clients based in Asia."

Evans received a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where he was a member of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal, and a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
Ryan Marton is a member of the firm's Litigation Group.
