MORRISTOWN, N.J., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial Executives International (FEI), the association of choice for CFOs and other senior-level finance executives, will be hosting its first annual Washington Policy Conference on September 20-21 at the Washington Court Hotel on Capitol Hill. This new event is a must-attend, and will bring together key business and government thought leaders to shed light and offer critical dialogue on the impact of policy and regulation to senior-level financial executives and their companies. The event will feature keynote remarks from Kathleen L. Casey, Commissioner, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; Hon. Douglas Shulman, Commissioner, Internal Revenue Service and Hon. David M. Walker, President and Chief Executive Officer, Peter G. Peterson Foundation.
"FEI is committed to being a strong advocate for finance executives on the Hill and, in the current regulatory environment, it is critical for companies to understand the impact of legislative measures underway and how they can maintain their competitiveness," said Marie Hollein, CEO and President, Financial Executives International. "This conference will connect leaders from business and politics to have an insightful discussion on their key issues and concerns. We envision that this will become a signature DC event, similar to our Current Financial Reporting Issues conference in New York, and encourage all senior executives to attend in order to have a voice in the way that their businesses are impacted in 2010 and beyond."
The 2010 Washington Policy Conference will also feature several sessions for attendees, which include:
- Facilitating American Competitiveness through Tax Reform
- Fiscal and Economic Policy and its Influence
- Energy: Strategies, Policy & Best Practices
- A Legislative & Regulatory Update for the C-Suite
- A Discussion with Distinguished FEI Members on Policy Today and its Impact
FEI's Washington Policy conference will also honor an executive with the "Contribution To Policy" award, which is presented to an outstanding finance professional who has demonstrated excellence in influencing the laws and policies impacting corporate finance, and furthering the mission and objectives of FEI. The inaugural award will be presented to Michael P. Reilly, Vice President of Taxation for Johnson & Johnson during the conference's opening reception on September 20th. Mr. Reilly has played an active role in developing a communication and advocacy strategy for FEI's Committee on Taxation (COT) for over 15 years, and his tenure includes serving as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee from 2004 to 2006.
