Feeding America Launches Set The Table™ To Turn Celebrations And Events Into Fundraising Opportunities For A Hunger-Free America

CHICAGO, Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today Feeding America® announced the launch of Set the Table™, a new online fundraising platform to empower their supporters to start their own fundraising campaigns for the charity by turning special events like birthdays, holiday dinners, or marathon races into opportunities to raise money for families facing hunger.

Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, is giving its supporters the ability to create a personal fundraising platform. Providing tools to set up their own personal page on the Feeding America web site, the donation platform accepts online contributions, distributes email to friends and family, connects supporters through social media and tracks their fundraising progress. Also participants can encourage their peers to establish pages of their own to reach an even larger personal network of donors or even compete with their friends to raise the most funds.

"This new online platform mobilizes Feeding America supporters to invite their entire network of friends, family and colleagues to join them in the fight to end hunger in America," said Diana Aviv, CEO of Feeding America. More than 48 million Americans, including 15 million children, struggle with hunger. The Feeding America nationwide network of food banks responds to the hunger crisis by providing food and groceries to people in need. Through this platform, Feeding America will reach more people and increase fundraising for people facing hunger.
