Federated Enhanced Treasury Income Fund Declares First Monthly Dividend
PITTSBURGH, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Federated Investors, Inc. (NYSE: FII) one of the nation's largest investment managers, today announced the initial monthly dividend declaration in the amount of $0.12 per common share for Federated Enhanced Treasury Income Fund (NYSE: FTT), a new closed-end fund seeking current income and total return.
The first distribution will be paid on Mar. 31, 2010 to shareholders of record on Mar. 24, 2010. The ex-dividend date is Mar. 22, 2010. Unless shareholders have elected otherwise, they will receive all of their distribution in additional shares of the fund.
The fund's January 2010 initial public offering raised $178.0 million at an initial price of $20.00 per share. Assets may increase to $203.6 million, assuming the full exercise of the underwriters' over-allotments. The fund employs an integrated U.S. Treasury-based strategy with an option writing strategy and a duration management overlay in order to provide the potential for current income and total return.
The underwriting syndicate included Wells Fargo Securities, LLC; UBS Investment Bank; and Raymond James & Associates, Inc.
The fund's distribution may include sources other than net investment income, including a return of capital (which is not a distribution from income or gains of the fund). As required under the Investment Company Act of 1940, a notice with the estimated components of the distribution will be provided to shareholders at the time of payment if it does not consist solely of net investment income. Such notice will also be posted to the fund's Web site at FederatedInvestors.com. The notice should not to be used to prepare tax returns as the estimates indicated in the notice may differ from the ultimate federal income tax characterization of distributions. After the end of each calendar year, investors will be sent a Form 1099-DIV informing them how to report distributions received during that year for federal income tax purposes.
