Federal Government Ends Enrollment in PA Fair Care March 2
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Insurance Department reminds Pennsylvanians with pre-existing health issues that they have until Saturday, March 2, to submit applications for the health plan known as PA Fair Care.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced last week that enrollment in all state high-risk pools will end on March 2. Any applications received after this date will not be processed.
Last week, the department expressed its concern to CMS regarding this suspension and asked that the decision be reconsidered. The department has not received a response.
PA Fair Care currently has 6,779 enrollees in the program. At the current time, this application suspension does not affect their coverage, as long as monthly premiums continue to be paid.
