FDLI Names New President and Chief Executive Officer
Amy Comstock Rick to lead organization effective August 25th
WASHINGTON, May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) announces the selection of Amy Comstock Rick as the organization's new President and Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Rick brings more than 25 years of experience to FDLI, having led the Parkinson's Action Network (PAN), a 501(c)(3) health care educational organization for over 10 years. At PAN she established strong ties to regulatory agencies, the research and non-profit communities, and the private sector. Before leading PAN, she served as the Senate-confirmed Director of the US Office of Government Ethics, in the White House as Associate Counsel to the President, and in various positions at the US Department of Education. Ms. Rick began her professional career at the law firm of Beveridge & Diamond; she is a graduate of Bard College and the University of Michigan Law School.
"To continue providing innovative and on-point programming, publications, and discussion, FDLI must have top-notch leadership," said Philip Katz, a partner at Hogan Lovells and Chair of the FDLI Board of Directors. "Amy Rick will be that leader. She brings strong management and leadership skills, drawn from a variety of experiences in the government and the non-profit sector. We look forward to her work with the organization's superb professional staff, applying her skills in education, outreach and strategic planning to FDLI."
"I am excited about joining FDLI and am honored to be given this opportunity," said Ms. Rick. "FDLI's leadership in providing insight and understanding of food and drug law is invaluable in this time of significant change in the field. I look forward to being a part of that leadership."
FDLI is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides a forum for discussion and education regarding issues of law and policy affecting food, drugs, animal drugs, biologics, cosmetics, diagnostics, dietary supplements, medical devices and tobacco products. It serves those functions through conferences, publications and member interaction. Ms. Rick is replacing Susan C. Winckler, who announced her departure from FDLI earlier this year.
