FCi Federal Reaches New Collective Bargaining Agreement with USCIS Nebraska Service Center Workers
ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- FCi Federal today announced that the firm has reached a new, five-year collective bargaining agreement with workers at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service's Nebraska Service Center in Lincoln. The agreement, reached early Thursday morning between FCi Federal and leaders of Local 808 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America, next moves to a ratification vote by the bargaining unit's approximately 300 workers.
"Today's agreement is vital to providing the stability and continuity at the Nebraska Service Center needed to appropriately serve the immigration population that relies on the critical records-keeping services provided by FCi Federal," said Sharon D. Virts, Founder and Chief Executive of FCi Federal. "We are pleased to have reached an agreement that acknowledges our employees' desire for fair compensation and, at the same time, is indicative of the fiscal responsibility on which the Company prides itself."
Ashburn, VA-based FCi Federal began its tenure as lead contractor operating the facility, which provides record-keeping and document-processing services for immigrants in the United States, on October 16.
The accord is the second major collective bargaining agreement reached between FCi Federal and unions representing its employees in October. Last week, workers at the USCIS California Service Center ratified a new, five-year agreement with FCi Federal.
