Fattah Statement on Obama Administration's $26 Million Manufacturing Initiative
PHILADELPHIA, May 24, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), the senior Democratic Appropriator for the Department of Commerce and a leading voice in Congress for federal seed money and technical support for manufacturing innovation, released the following statement in support of the Obama administration's announcement of $26 million for regional manufacturing partnerships.
"The Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge Program is yet another illustration of the Obama administration's commitment to our manufacturing sector," said Chaka Fattah (D-PA). "By making $26 million available to create public-private partnerships, we will leverage private capital, speed up job growth, and strengthen our already growing economy. Having introduced the American Discoveries Act and the American Jobs Act to aid American businesses in innovating, I'm glad to partner with the administration to move our economy forward. This is the kind of innovative thinking that has led to 26 consecutive months of job growth, and while we still have a ways to go, I know this program will lead to an even better economic outlook in the months to come."
