Fathom Announces Complete Pricing Structure to the Dominican Republic and Cuba
Carnival Corporation's new social impact brand unveils simplified fare structure and competitive pricing making the high-value Fathom experience accessible and convenient
SEATTLE, Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fathom, the pioneer in social impact travel and Carnival Corporation's (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) 10th and newest brand, today announced its complete schedule of pricing for its seven-day, purpose-driven voyages. Fathom provides a different kind of cruise that combines travelers' love of travel with their desire to make a difference.
In determining its pricing framework Fathom aimed to create a simplified price structure, consolidating the number of core fare options into four straightforward categories based on stateroom type. The four categories include interior stateroom, ocean view stateroom, balcony stateroom and suite stateroom. The company also streamlined pricing for single, double and triple occupancy, offering competitive pricing formulas to entice travelers to book a future Fathom experience.
"Travel pricing can be complicated, so we have taken a straightforward, transparent approach to pricing Fathom experiences, condensing the number of fare categories and breaking down pricing by occupancy and season," said Tara Russell, president of Fathom and global impact lead for Carnival Corporation. "Impact travel experiences historically have been limited, hard to identify, and complex to piece together and schedule. Our pricing philosophy is consistent with our goal of simplifying the entire experience – Fathom offers an accessible, convenient and high-value offering that is easy to book and competitively priced."
Dominican Republic and Cuba Pricing Based on a Simplified Fare Structure
Prices for the seven-day trips to the Dominican Republic start at $974 per person excluding taxes, fees and port expenses and including all meals on the ship, onboard social impact immersion experiences, three on-shore social impact activities and related supplies. There are four pricing levels, based on stateroom configuration and location, and prices vary by low season (Sept. 11, 25), shoulder season (April 10, 17, 24, May 8, 22, Aug. 28) and peak season (June 5, 19, July 3, 17, 31, Aug. 14).
There will be a few select impact activities with incremental costs for materials and supplies. Additional recreational activities and dining and beverage packages will also be priced separately. Estimated taxes, fees and port expenses are $200 extra and a $300 per-person deposit is required for all stateroom categories and occupancy levels. Final payments are due 150 days prior to departure. Travelers may begin tailoring their trips later this fall (e.g., impact activities selection, stateroom selections, etc.).

Fathom also has streamlined pricing for single, double and triple occupancy, offering competitive pricing formulas to entice travelers to experience Fathom. Prices listed are per person, based on double occupancy. Other pricing details include:
- Triple and Quad Pricing: 50 percent discount off per-person double occupancy price (all categories).
- Single Supplement: 150 percent of per-traveler double occupancy price for interior, exterior ocean-view and balcony staterooms; 200 percent per traveler double occupancy price for suites.
In addition, Fathom is bringing back a cruise-industry favorite for individual travelers interested in traveling solo and participating in social impact travel experiences. Fathom's Single Traveler Share Program makes the Fathom experience available to an entire group of individual travelers who may be traveling alone and looking to share the cost of a double-occupancy stateroom. As part of its Single Traveler Share program, Fathom guarantees single travelers the company will match individuals with other single travelers of the same gender who are interested in the same type of staterooms (interior and ocean view only). If Fathom cannot find a suitable roommate, it will not charge the traveler the single supplement fare even if the passenger travels alone in the stateroom (the single traveler is guaranteed the per-traveler double occupancy fare of 100 percent of fare vs. 150 percent).
Fathom Fares Benefit Dominican and Cuban Community Partners
According to Russell, a percentage of every impact travel ticket purchase price goes to Fathom partner organizations in the Dominican Republic and Cuba in the form of donations to cover on-the-ground activities, including supplies, travel, personnel to assist with the activities and funding to support the partner organizations' overall missions. "In addition to an ongoing revenue stream to these partners, Fathom has built into each fare a donation to the partners based on the activities and partners each traveler works with," added Russell.
