Father Seeks Custody of Inmate's Child
CHICAGO, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, February 19th, 2010 at 9:30am, veteran litigator Art Kallow of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, http://dadsrights.com, will seek immediate custody before Judge Michael Panter, in Courtroom 1401 at 32 W. Randolph, Chicago on behalf of Clement Bell, a father whose daughter, Ryleigh, was born to a federal prisoner in Texas.
The mother, convicted of a drug offense, gave birth to the child while awaiting sentencing and gave the child her last name.
Due to Kallow's zealous advocacy, the court ordered DNA testing which confirmed that Bell is the father.
Bell is also petitioning the court to change his daughter's last name to be the same as his and to change her middle name to that of his late mother.
Attorneys Kallow and Leving state that their client would "do everything to ensure the health, safety and future of his child and gaining custody is an essential first step."
