Father Mo's best. According to Mo Bros the best advice comes from the wisdom of their fathers or father-figures
Schick® razors celebrates the year of Movember & Sons by sharing knowledge of generations
TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Always follow through. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Always treat everyone with respect. Sound familiar? This is what the majority of Mo Bros listed as some of the best advice they received from their father or father figure, according to research done by Schick®.
As Mo Bros get their upper lip prepped to grow a Mo for Movember, the world's largest fundraising campaign for men`s health, the Schick® Hydro® brand is asking Canadians to share their collective knowledge from different generations on fathermosbest.ca. Simply submit text or upload a video and each piece of advice submitted to the gallery will increase Schick®'s Movember donation by $5 (up to a maximum of $20,000).
"Sharing advice gives us great power to avoid mistakes of the past and plan for the future. We encourage everyone to exchange their knowledge on fathermosbest.ca" says Paul Reed, Brand Manager - Schick® Hydro®. "This year`s Movember & Sons theme encourages Mo bros to grow Mo's with their father or son, uncle or other influential people in their life. There`s no better way to get conversations started and raise awareness for issues such as men's health, than to participate with loved ones."
Canadian dads may not know everything, but life, career and finance were the top three favoured topics of wisdom to impart on their youngsters. The Schick® Hydro® brand polled more than 100 Mo Bros which indicated that the best advice came from a father or father figure (69%), but also some of the most ridiculous advice (16%). Not surprisingly, friends were the main source of crazy counsel getting the majority of the ridiculous advice vote (61%).
Here's what some Mo Bros surveyed told us was the best advice:
- Always do the right thing
- Keep your nose clean
- Be honest and open minded
- Do what you love while you can
- Always be a gentleman
- Be yourself
And the silliest advice:
- Never plan a trip more than 2 weeks in advance because you'll never know the weather
- Don't stand up in a canoe (that's a real Canadian one eh?)
- There is no such thing as an undercooked or overcooked potato
- What you do in private shows in public
- Judge a man by his shoes
- You have to eat a pound of dirt before you die
Now that these Mo bros have lived a little, here is the advice they would pass on to generations that follow them:
- Be happy and try not to hurt anybody
- Make sure you do what makes you happy
- Work hard, play hard
- Sometimes a well written apology is infinitely better than even the most persuasive request
- Be only the best version of yourself
Continue the cycle of sharing and visit fathermosbest.ca and share the best advice you received.
