FatCloud Launches FatDB Management Studio at TechEd
LOS ANGELES, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FatCloud, the developer of FatDB, the NoSQL database for Windows, today announced the launch of its new database management tool - FatDB Management Studio[1] - at Microsoft TechEd in New Orleans.
FatDB Management Studio is designed to provide an intuitive way of managing the FatDB database as well as the application services integrated with FatDB. These include a work queue, a file management system, scalable caching and Map Reduce. In addition, the FatDB Management Studio is designed to deliver easy integration with Microsoft SQL Server, combining the benefits of the relational model with a NoSQL database. This hybrid virtual data store allows companies to build a new generation of applications that are affordable, scalable and quick to develop.
FatDB's NoSQL capabilities, plus FatDB Management Studio's features, enable the database to capture unstructured "big data", which can then be married to legacy data in SQL Server, creating a hybrid database that can scale horizontally. FatDB lowers the total cost of ownership, increasing return on investment from existing SQL Server data and licenses. In addition, FatDB's integrated application platform maximizes the speed of new application development by as much as 66 percent compared to using traditional development processes.[2] FatDB's unique capabilities have resulted in it being named a finalist in the Best of TechEd 2013 awards program.
"We have seen a need within the Microsoft community to develop a solution which integrates SQL Server with NoSQL. We also recognized that easy to use and powerful tooling is important in bringing the capabilities of NoSQL to life for Windows customers. FatDB, including the FatDB Management Studio, is the only product suite on the market with this capability," said Ian Miller, president and CEO at FatCloud. "We are very proud and excited that FatDB has been chosen as a finalist for the Best of TechEd this year."
