Amidst the challenges of a manufacturer succeeding in the US economy, Gutterglove grew from $4.7M in gross sales for 2014 to $9.6M in 2016, just over 100% in growth. In 2016, the Sacramento Business Journal announced Gutterglove as the 28th fastest growing company and 48th largest family owned company for 2015 in the greater Sacramento region. To accommodate their growth, Gutterglove recently moved from a 22,000 square foot facility to a 43,000 square foot facility.
The pro-grade DIY gutter guards are sold through Costco, Home Depot and now Sam's Club, all of which sell rainwater harvesting equipment. Home Depot is very active in rainwater catchment and has 178 stores fitted with systems on their building structures, using their roofs for capturing rainwater. Gutter guard inventor and CEO of Gutterglove, Robert Lenney, sees his stainless steel gutter protection systems as a good fit for homeowners, contractors, retail and wholesale stores.
"Our stainless steel gutter guards act as a pre-filtration for rainwater harvesting because they keep leaves, pine needles and small debris out of the gutter and rainwater collection tanks," says Lenney. "Another great feature is that homeowners will never have to clean their gutters out again."
People associate the globally recognized UL label with electronic devices, but they also provide testing and certification to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) standards and protocols. NSF P151 covers the health effects from rainwater catchment system components and NSF 372 covers lead content analysis, both protocols Gutterglove recently received.
President of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA), David Crawford, describes that the rainwater catchment industry and product suppliers have grown in the last few years.
"We are proud to support our members that are making great strides to move the industry forward as Gutterglove has with their precedent setting UL approval for NSF protocols related to gutters used for rainwater harvesting," replies Crawford.
