"It's wonderful that I can use my craft to not only make women look beautiful, but also make them feel beautiful, as we did in this show," said Nguyen. "For this one night, these women were able to put their bad experiences behind them and focus only on their positive potential. I'm proud to be a part of Project Vintage Runway, which has helped the ladies discover new-found confidence and self-esteem."
Nguyen, whose fashion empire includes Danny Nguyen Couture and L'Atelier Wedding in Houston, was joined at the event by guest designer Terri Ives; Project Runway TV star Venny Etienne and former Dallas Cowboys Isaiah Stanback and Patrick Crayton. Master of Ceremonies for the event was FGI Rising Star Award Recipient, Designer Daniel Mofor of Don Morphy Custom Clothiers, who live streamed into the event from Italy.
"We are extremely pleased with the community engagement we received for this incredible event supporting UGM Dallas Center of Hope Women and Children's Shelter," stated Margaret McKoin, creator of Project Vintage Runway and CEO of The Time Group.
