Farrin Attorney Anabel Rosa Speaks After "In the Heights" Saturday Matinee
James Scott Farrin Attorney and Shareholder Anabel Rosa will speak on a panel, Saturday, October 20, following the 4:30 p.m. production of "In the Heights" at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.
DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- James Scott Farrin Attorney and Shareholder Anabel Rosa will speak on a panel, Saturday, October 20, following the 4:30 p.m. production of "In the Heights" at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium (Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts).
The panel will feature some of Raleigh's most influential leaders, including Andres Quintero, "In the Heights" cast member. Those in attendance will learn about diversity in the Triangle's Hispanic community and how each panelist's experiences and backgrounds are similar to one another. Panelists will discuss the overall themes that are prevalent in "In the Heights," including immigration, education accessibility, gentrification, and how they can relate to these topics.
Rosa is a Puerto Rican native and has been practicing law in the United States for over 20 years. She is extremely active in the Latinx community on and off the job.
When she came to the U.S. to attend college, she spoke only Spanish. She is now chair to the City of Durham Mayor's Hispanic/Latino Committee, and has helped organize pro bono citizenship clinics in North Carolina. Governor Roy Cooper selected Rosa to serve on the Governor's Advisory Council on Hispanic Latino Affairs, where she also serves on the Subcommittee for Economic Development.
For Rosa's work with the Latinx community, she received the 2018 "Triangle Business Journal" Women in Business award.
