LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Following widespread damage resulting from wildfires in California's Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Sonoma, and Yuba counties in October, Farmers Insurance® deployed Catastrophe Response Claims Team members and Mobile Claims Center buses (MCCs) to help expedite claims processing and assist in the area's ongoing recovery efforts.
Farmers Insurance has received more than 4,000 claims from the Northern California wildfires to date at an estimated gross cost of $1.2 billion. With reinsurance, Farmers® estimates its incurred loss will be $140 million, and after both reinsurance and taxes, Farmers estimates that its net incurred loss will be $90 million.
Catastrophe claims teams remain in the area to assist customers with their claims as they proceed with their recovery.
