Farmer Thaddeus Barsotti Teams with Sacramento Children's Museum to Promote Healthy Eating

CAPAY, Calif., Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Farm Fresh To You, a CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture) service delivering to homes throughout California, announced today that its farmer Thaddeus Barsotti has teamed with the Sacramento Children's Museum for a special event called "Happy Heart, Healthy Eating" on Sat., March 3.

Barsotti will talk to families at 11 a.m and 1 p.m. about organic farming, how food grows and healthy eating. The museum's address is: 2701 Prospect Park Rancho Cordova, Calif., 95670. The talks will take place at the museum's indoor tree near its farmer's market play area called "Leo's Market."

Farmer Thaddeus will bring a bounty of produce with him to show young museum visitors and their parents what is growing on the farm this time of year. He will talk about the different seasons on the farm and what it was like to grow up on the farm.

"I was lucky to grow up on a farm and knew from an early age about the importance of not only eating healthy, but also connecting to where my food was grown. I love talking to kids about fruits and veggies and ensuring that they know more about the food system than they see in the grocery store," said Barsotti. "We want families to connect with their local farms. It's never too early to talk to children about eating healthy and seasonally."
