RIVERSIDE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing its legacy of giving back to the communities it serves, Farmer Boys announced today the launch of its 12th Annual "Together we are Champions for Children" Help a Child in Need fundraiser, which begins Monday. October 1 and continues through Wednesday, October 31, 2012. The fundraiser benefits the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, which serves over 145,000 critically ill or injured children that come through their doors each year with the most advanced level of trauma care in the region. In addition, Loma Linda Children's Hospital is the sole Children's Hospital in San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo and Mono Counties that offers the best full-range of pediatric healthcare services for more than 1.3 million children.

Throughout the fundraiser timeframe, Farmer Boys guests will be invited to make a donation by "purchasing" Luke the Lion and Farmer Boy Roy icon for $1.00 or more. These icons commemorating each donation will be displayed in Farmer Boys restaurants to recognize and celebrate the generosity of the community in supporting the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.

Every Farmer Boys guest who makes a donation during the fundraiser timeframe will receive a coupon for 20% off any single purchase of $10.00 or more before December 31, 2012.

The company also sponsored the hospital's 27th Annual Children's Day in May, where over 2,000 children participated in free demonstrations to learn about fire and water safety, as well as health awareness.
