Faraday Future Continues Momentum Ahead Of FF 91 Luxury EV Launch; Recruits Top Talent From Auto And Tech Sectors
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Faraday Future (FF) announced today that Jeff Risher has been appointed to the position of vice president of Product, Technology, and IP Strategy. Risher joins FF after having recently served as the head of intellectual property and litigation at Tesla.
Reporting to founder and Global CEO YT Jia, Risher is focused on overall product strategy, advanced technology adoption, and strategic relationships. Risher also leverages his deep experience in intellectual property strategy, licensing, and litigation by leading FF's IP strategy and patent portfolio efforts, reporting to Global General Counsel Henry Liu.
Prior to joining FF, Risher served as the chief intellectual property counsel and chief litigation counsel at Tesla. Before Tesla, Risher served for nearly nine years in various senior legal and IP leadership roles at Apple, including director of patent litigation and director of patent strategy & licensing. In those capacities he managed and negotiated complex cutting-edge technology disputes, licensing engagements, and strategic partnerships worldwide. Risher has also held intellectual property-related positions at Abbott Laboratories in Chicago and the law firms Latham & Watkins and Rutan & Tucker in Orange County, California.
Risher carries strong business-focused training and is a seasoned technology strategist. Throughout his nearly 20-year career, he has been engaged in consumer-centric product strategy planning, new product development, and IP/technology creation, adoption and protection, including serving on the advisory board of several technology startups in Silicon Valley and elsewhere. Intellectual Asset Management Magazine (IAM) repeatedly named Risher as one of its "Top IP Strategists in the World," based on industry peer nominations.
"Joining FF at this exciting stage, and in this amazing product/technology strategy role, feels like a natural evolution for me, merging my passion for technology and product innovation with my legal and IP background," Risher said. "I am incredibly proud of the companies I've been privileged to work for, and I am grateful that FF is entrusting me with this great opportunity to be a part of a new era of mobility and technology integration. The progress that FF already has made toward this vision with the Faraday Future FF 91 and beyond surprised and delighted me, and I will lead my teams to make sure we execute on that vision."
Risher received his B.A. in Philosophy from Dartmouth College in 1995 and his J.D. (Juris Doctor degree) from UCLA in 1999.
