Fan Favorite "DAMN YANKEES" Takes the Stage at WCCCD Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center
Seven Time Tony Award-winning Broadway Musical Helps Usher in Spring
TAYLOR, Mich., March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for spring comes the national tour of the seven-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical DAMN YANKEES. The fan favorite will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Wayne County Community College District's (WCCCD) Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center, located on WCCCD's Downriver Campus at 21000 Northline Road, Taylor, Michigan.
Home runs, fly balls and devilishly good fun all meet at home plate in the Broadway musical comedy, DAMN YANKEES. Set during the 1950's in Washington D.C., the musical is a contemporary retelling of Faust. Based on Wallop's novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant, the musical tells the story of a middle-aged baseball fanatic who trades his soul to the Devil for a chance to lead his favorite team in the pennant race against The New York Yankees, only to realize the true worth of the life (and wife) he left behind.
Written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (of "The Pajama Game" fame), hit songs like "Whatever Lola Wants" and "You Gotta Have Heart", make this show a musical comedy home run!
Tickets are $40 and $45 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 734-374-3200. The show is sponsored by WCCCD's Downtown Campus.
