WASHINGTON, Jan. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council (FRC) and The Heritage Foundation, two leading public policy organizations, today announced a joint "Values Voter Bus Tour" that will hit the road this week to tell Americans about practical, conservative solutions to the most critical issues confronting the nation.

With a banner proclaiming "Your Money, Your Values, Your Vote," the custom-jacketed Values Voter Bus will roll onto the campus of the College of Charleston for its first event at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 outside TD Arena. Gov. Nikki Haley is scheduled to make remarks as she welcomes the rolling voter education and registration campaign to South Carolina. Also slated to speak are Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and Heritage President Ed Feulner.
During the joint project, expected to continue until the Nov. 6 elections, FRC will roll out its voter registration initiative and speak to critical values issues that must be addressed by the next president. Heritage will emphasize educating voters on restoring fiscal responsibility through its "Saving the American Dream" plan.
"We are pleased to join with our friends at The Heritage Foundation in launching this 'Values Voter Bus' tour which will bring a message of real hope and change during this critical election year," said Family Research Council President Tony Perkins. "This tour will speak to the views held by millions of American voters who want to see the next President address the values issues which include restoring fiscal sanity, protecting marriage, safeguarding religious liberty and protecting the rights of the unborn."
"The President has said that this election 'is a contest of values.' I couldn't agree more. It is about values, and whose values will guide our nation into the future. President Obama's values are clear – marriage, life and the Constitution mean little to him in the pursuit of his radical agenda," concluded Perkins.
"We'll be saving the American Dream one stop at a time," Feulner said before leaving Washington. "Right now, our nation is on the wrong path. If nothing is done, our children and grandchildren will experience not liberty and prosperity, but more crushing debt, higher taxes and job-killing regulations."
Feulner said, "Heritage and FRC make perfect partners in bringing time-honored common sense on indivisible economic and social issues to busy, everyday Americans who want to leave a stronger nation, not a weaker one, to their children and grandchildren."
This first stop on the "Your Money, Your Values, Your Vote 2012" tour coincides with a meeting of the Southern Republican Leadership Conference and the presidential candidates debate that night sponsored by the SRLC and CNN at North Charleston Coliseum in advance of the South Carolina primary the following Saturday.
Early stops elsewhere by the Values Bus include Jan. 20 in West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Jan. 23 and Feb. 9 in Washington, D.C.; Jan. 26 in St. Louis, Mo.; and Feb. 16 in Nashville, Tenn.
