Family Research Council Commends Indiana for Joining 19 States in Protecting Religious Liberty
WASHINGTON, March 29, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins released the following statement in response to Indiana Governor Mike Pence's appearance this morning on ABC's "This Week":
"This morning Governor Mike Pence defended religious freedom; the ability to not only hold beliefs, but live by those beliefs. What is unfolding in Indiana reveals the source of true intolerance; those who want the government to punish people for freely living according to their beliefs.
"We commend Indiana for joining 19 other states in aligning themselves with federal religious freedom law.
"The Religious Freedom Restoration Act leaves people free to live and work according to their religious beliefs. Everyone's freedom is at risk when the government is empowered to more easily burden religious belief," concluded Perkins.
