Familiar Faces Dominate at IR Magazine Canada Awards

NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- IR magazine, the only global publication dealing with the interfacing of companies and their shareholders, is excited to announce the winners of the 2012 IR Magazine Canada Awards. Based on extensive, independent research conducted by IR Insight, the research arm of IR magazine, the best of the best in Canada have been determined for 23 categories, from best investor relations to best use of reporting and excellence in corporate social responsibility.

IR Insight identified the winners through a survey of over 250 institutional investors and analysts from across the Canadian market, in the only IR sector awards program where the nominees and winners are determined by Canadian IR departments' core constituency. Key results include:

• The big winner: from its nine nominations, TD Bank Financial Group picked up six awards, including grand prix for best overall investor relations, best IR by a CEO and best IR by a CFO (all large cap).
• Pockets of excellence: TD Bank Financial Group wasn't the only winner of multiple awards. Other companies making more than one trip to the stage last night include CN, Corus Entertainment, TELUS and Agnico-Eagle Mines.
• New to the party: Dundee International REIT won best IR for an IPO – and was the last IPO in Canada in 2011 (in July). The award for best IR by a TSX Venture-listed company went to Energold Drilling.
