Faithful+Gould Wins CMAA Project Achievement Award For United Terminal C North Program
NEW YORK, May 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Faithful+Gould, a world-leading project and program management consultancy, is pleased to announce that the Terminal C North Program at George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IAH) has been selected to receive a prestigious CMAA North Texas Project Achievement Award in the category of 'transportation projects valued greater than $100 million.'
The project was split into two phases: the terminal building, valued at approximately $260 million; and the ramp, fueling and utilities portion, valued at roughly $85 million. The terminal building was a Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivery built by Manhattan Construction Company and managed by Faithful+Gould, along with VRX, Inc. and JLA Construction Solutions on behalf of United Airlines (United).
"The United Terminal C project incorporated a wide range of moving parts prior to completion," said Faithful+Gould Project Executive Ashley Hough. "We are extremely proud to have delivered the project under budget, and to be recognized for our dedicated involvement from a prestigious industry organization such as CMAA."
Covering 264,000 square feet in total, the two-level facility features an open floor, with a wide and high ceiling plan, creating an airy feel for team members and passengers. It also features a custom-designed terrazzo floor throughout, and houses 14 gates with new jet bridges and accessories. New restaurants, a food court and retail outlets complement a partnership between United and On The Go (OTG) to provide a dynamic design with the latest in travel restaurant technology.
The second portion of the project, the ramp, fueling and utilities aspect, involved the removal and replacement of approximately 24 acres of 17.5-inch concrete apron paving surrounding the new concourse. Faithful+Gould verified that all required site utilities were provided, including, but not limited to, chilled and hot water, electrical, domestic water, fire water, sanitary sewer and drainage to the new concourse.
