Faith Comes Alive at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale With Launch of Mobile App
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale has developed a new, digital way for members of the congregation and the community to connect with each other and all the church offers. Launched in February 2017, the church's mobile app offers many features including the opportunity to submit prayer requests, live-stream recent sermons and make donations.
"Our church is known as a place 'where faith comes alive,' and our new church app is a way to help ensure that theme continues to ring true for as many people as possible," said Rev. Dr. Christopher J. Benek, Associate Pastor of Family Ministries and Mission at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale. "Technology plays such a large part in our daily lives; it's a convenience. The goal of creating the app is to make certain our offerings and resources are easily and readily available to anyone with a smartphone."
Available for free download on both iOS and Android devices, the First Presbyterian Church app offers several convenient options. The Media section of the app provides quick links to previously recorded sermons, while the Find Us section features a church map along with the Sunday worship schedule. In the Give section, parishioners can use the Pushpay system to provide an array of offerings to the church, including Christmas and Easter donations.
The First Presbyterian Church app also features a Connect section where you can fill out a Connect Card to identify what type of programming interests you the most. For example, app users can select small groups, youth programming or children's ministry. In addition, parishioners can submit prayer requests that will be announced during Sunday worship services, as well as view the complete event calendar. If you need a daily dose of inspiration, the app also contains a Bible section where you can look up any verse in several different languages including Spanish, Greek and Hebrew.
"In addition to helping those who are currently connected to the church continue to grow in their faith, we are hopeful that the new church app will also make it easier for newcomers to navigate our church and learn about the many wonderful programs we offer," Benek said.
