Faith and Freedom Coalition Welcomes Barack Obama to Virginia
Radio ad urges him to "check out Jefferson's ideas about limited government"
ATLANTA, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- When Barack Obama arrives in Charlottesville, Virginia, tomorrow for a campaign stop for Congressman Tom Perriello (D-VA), he'll be greeted by a radio ad by the Faith and Freedom Coalition pointing out that Perriello has earned the president's loyalty by voting far to the left of the views of his own constituents.
"We don't fault your loyalty to Tom Perriello," the ad says. "He sure earned it carrying water for you and Nancy Pelosi." The ad recounts Perriello's votes for the Obama economic stimulus package, government-run health care, and cap-and-trade energy tax.
"We didn't want any of these, but we got them anyway. Because Tom Perriello was working for you, not us," says the ad. It notes President Obama will visit the University of Virginia, known as "Mr. Jefferson's university," and urges him to "check out Jefferson's ideas about limited government, freedom and liberty."
The ad closes with a suggestion that Obama "give [Perriello] a job after November 2, because he's been working for you all along." The script and audio of the new FFC radio ad have been posted on its website, as well as the website of its Virginia affiliate.
"It's important that elected officials take ownership of their positions and actions. The President's visit and this ad help ensure that happens," stated Senator Steve Martin, Chairman of the Virginia Faith and Freedom Coalition.
The Faith and Freedom Coalition is a grassroots, pro-family, pro-free market organization with over 400,000 members. It is currently airing ads in 18 House and Senate races nationwide.
