STAMFORD, Conn., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fairfield County Business Journal's seventh annual 40Under40 is shaping up to be its grandest fete to date. This year's event will be held June 16, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at High Ridge Park Corporate Center in Stamford and will focus on "The Art of Leadership."
Jay Walker, founder of Priceline.com and chairman of Walker Digital in Stamford will serve as the keynote speaker. He will be joined by Joe Connolly, veteran business reporter for The Wall Street Journal who provides business reports for WCBS Newsradio 880, as the event's master of ceremonies.
Walker, one of America's best-known business innovators and entrepreneurs, has been named one of Businessweek's 25 Internet Pioneers, honored twice in TIME magazine's "50 Most Influential Business Leaders in the Digital Age" and called one of the three executives at the forefront of the digital landscape by Newsweek. His expertise and knack for lively business coverage has won him awards from the New York Press Club and the New York Society of Public Accountants, among others.
"The Fairfield County Business Journal (FCBJ) is grateful that such well-respected, accomplished, creative and influential business leaders have agreed to participate," said Dee DelBello, publisher of the FCBJ. "Together, Jay and Joe are a dynamic duo who will inspire everyone at 40Under40, especially the young winners. This is the not-to-miss networking event and celebration of the year."
There will be several new and exciting features at this year's celebration. The event will feature "A Taste of Fairfield County" with the hottest restaurants sharing their culinary specialties and a showcase of young, emerging artists supported by The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County. In addition, previous winners will enjoy a 40Under40 alumni VIP Lounge where they can network with their peers.
The 40Under40 awards recognize creative young professionals, all under the age of 40, who are dedicated to personal and professional development. These are individuals that serve as role models for their colleagues and are motivated to succeed in their distinct fields. They are hard workers who have truly mastered the "art" of leadership.
