Date: Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Place: Board Room, Fourth Floor, Air Force Association headquarters, 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington, Va., 22209
ABOUT THIS EVENT
The Year 2010 is only three months old, but the F-35 program this year has already suffered the sudden firing of a program manager, imposition of a three-year delay in its development, and sufficient cost growth to trigger a formal Nunn-McCurdy breach. For all that, the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps remain critically dependent on the timely success of this stealthy fighter-bomber for future air dominance.
What will it take to get the F-35 fighter program back on track? An expert panel assembled by the Mitchell Institute for Airpower Studies will take a deep dive into the F-35 problems, program requirements, and status. Panelists include Dr. Rebecca Grant, Mitchell Institute Director; USAF Lt. Gen. David Deptula, Deputy Chief of Staff A-2; Barry Watts, senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, former Director of DOD's Program Analysis & Evaluation office and retired USAF colonel; and US Navy Vice Adm. Dennis McGinn, (ret), former director of Navy air warfare requirements and commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific.
