Eye Health NGO Orbis Unveils New Responsive Website
Orbis Website Redesign Showcases New Brand Identity
NEW YORK, April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- International eye health NGO, Orbis (www.orbis.org), has unveiled a new responsive website to coincide with the launch of its new brand identity. The website utilizes the new brand to better showcase the organization's impact as a leader in global eye health.
"Orbis's newly redesigned website is an incredible asset to amplify our voice using our new brand identity," said Jennifer Gregoire, Orbis Chief Marketing Officer. "Our redesigned online presence will not only help us raise awareness about avoidable blindness, but will also ensure that we are better communicating the breadth of our work with our supporters—old and new."
Orbis's goal during this web redesign process was to create a website to provide the best possible user-focused experience for visitors to learn about Orbis, keep up-to-date with the latest work and news and inspire visitors to support Orbis through donations, volunteering and spreading the word.
"We aimed to make the new website as compelling and interactive as possible to bring to light the problem of avoidable blindness," said Gregoire.
Utilizing Orbis's new brand voice, the website exposes the issue of "Why Vision", defining the problem of avoidable blindness, and the solution that Orbis brings to address it through training, research and advocacy. To accomplish this, the layout and design of the website takes a visual approach utilizing the wealth of vivid Orbis photography capturing its work over the last 30 years. These visual assets are especially apparent in the interactive Flying Eye Hospital feature on the website. In order to bring this unique aircraft to life online, the website features a special Flying Eye Hospital section which allows visitors to experience a virtual tour—inside and out—using still photography and 360 degree room views.
"With our new brand identity we aim to generate more of an aspirational voice to signify the vibrancy of the change that we create in the world," said Gregoire. "Our new website brings to life the hope, passion and commitment we want to transmit into everything that we do."
Orbis engaged New York-based digital strategy agency, Blue State Digital to develop and implement the new orbis.org.
