LONDON, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EY announces the expansion of a strategic alliance with Microsoft to develop, integrate and bring to market enhanced cyber defense solutions that help companies better manage and respond to cyber threats.
Under the expanded alliance, EY service offerings now include its EY Cybersecurity-as-a Service (CaaS) solution supported by Microsoft's Threat Protection solutions, which include Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection and Azure Security Center, designed to detect attacks that employ advanced malware and persistent remote access attempts in an effort to steal sensitive corporate data over a period of time.
These EY solutions are provided through EY cybersecurity centers. The cybersecurity collaboration combines EY trusted experience in professional services and offerings in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and innovative customer solutions with Microsoft's leading digital and cybersecurity technologies.
Terry Jost, EY Americas Cybersecurity Alliances Leader, says:
"Enterprises need to continue to be vigilant because cyber threats are dynamic and ongoing, especially as organizations transition to the digital age. What's more, the pace of technology change is only accelerating, typically at a faster rate than companies or people can reasonably absorb. By combining EY Cybersecurity-as-a-Service processes and deep experience with Microsoft technology, EY clients are offered a robust, yet simple, managed service to proactively monitor, detect and appropriately respond to cyber threats for measurable benefits to enterprises in every industry across the globe."
EY and Microsoft are working with companies on their cybersecurity initiatives, helping them to use the EY CaaS's capabilities to predict, monitor and manage risk across their investments in Microsoft technologies — such as tracking and responding to attacks arriving in email attachments — with reduced startup and operating costs and increased flexibility to detect and respond to new threats.
Ann Johnson, Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Cybersecurity Solutions Group, says:
"Microsoft is collaborating with EY because we are both committed to the highest levels of digital trust, transparency, standards conformance, and regulatory compliance. This broad suite of cloud products and services are all built from the ground up to address the most rigorous security and privacy demands of customers, using Microsoft's advanced security technology and leveraging global EY experience in cybersecurity. We are seeing a major transformation of almost all aspects of IT and information security, and together EY and Microsoft will be able to offer integrated solutions that help our clients to be well-positioned and competitive in the ever evolving global markets."
EY is one of the few organizations working with Microsoft to offer advanced cybersecurity capabilities to clients in a way that is simpler and more flexible.
Christina Richmond, Program Vice President, Worldwide Security Services, IDC, says:
"Enterprises are seeking improved ways to protect their organizations with end-to-end threat detection and response management across hybrid architectures. The alliance between EY and Microsoft combines the capability and experience to help meet this demand, which is on the rise as companies continue to expand their digital footprints."
The EY and Microsoft alliance combines deep EY insights and experience in disruptive industry trends, new business models and evolving processes supported by Microsoft's scalable, enterprise cloud platform and digital technologies, with innovative solutions that are secure, compliant and trusted. The alliance focuses on helping organizations deploy their digital strategies and amplify their business performance to thrive in a digital world.
