DALLAS, April 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ernst & Young is pleased to announce that Chad Holmes, Principal & Chief Technology, Innovation and Strategy Officer for the firm's cybersecurity practice is an honoree of the Dallas Business Journal's 2017 40 Under 40 Awards. This award recognizes Holmes' strong leadership and accomplishments in the cybersecurity field and local Dallas community.
Holmes leads the Ernst & Young LLP cybersecurity practice in cyber innovation, threat intelligence, strategy and alliances. He is responsible for all of the unique cybersecurity offerings developed to address some of the most challenging problems faced by the firm's Fortune 500 clients.
Holmes also developed a new practice-wide operating model and go-to-market strategy for EY cybersecurity, which helped boost the practice's ranking – from 99th place to fourth – in Cybersecurity Ventures' annual report of the world's hottest cybersecurity companies.
"Chad is a skillful, intelligent and innovative leader who constantly thinks about his client's needs and how the industry is changing," said Bob Sydow, EY Americas Cybersecurity Leader. "He is the embodiment of what the 40 Under 40 Awards stand for. His positive energy, strategic vision and commitment to service have made a huge impact on our workplace and the surrounding community."
Outside the office, Holmes started his own nonprofit, the Holmes Research Foundation, which works to leverage technology innovation to help solve childhood medical issues like autism. He is also an adjunct professor on cyber threat intelligence at SMU Cox School of Business, serves as an executive chairman for Cyber Future Foundation and mentors children as a Cub Scout den leader in the Dallas area.
"I'm humbled to be part of this year's 40 Under 40 class and to be recognized alongside so many accomplished professionals," Holmes said. "I am grateful to have the opportunity—at the office or in the community—to work with exceptional people and collectively build a better world."
Dallas Business Journal annually honors 40 emerging leaders under the age of 40. Recipients are chosen by an independent panel of business leaders for their professional and community contributions.
