NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The EY Center for Board Matters has bolstered its investment in the corporate governance space by expanding with global and regional hubs and by strengthening the Center's senior leadership team.
The EY organization established a global Center for Board Matters to help the boards of global companies manage a growing agenda and a wide range of new and complex risks. The global Center features insights for boards in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, India and Africa regions.
In addition, the Americas Center for Board Matters has expanded with a regional network of EY governance professionals who will assist boards with insight and education at the local Americas level. The Center also recently named industry veteran Stephen Klemash as Americas Leader and added Rani Doyle as Executive Director.
"Companies are facing rapid disruptions from geopolitical developments, innovation and technology, and we are seeing an increased demand for insights as boards consider evolving strategy, risks and talent needs," said Stephen R. Howe, Jr., US Chairman and Americas Managing Partner, EY. "Under Mr. Klemash's leadership, we are well-positioned to provide leading-edge counsel to help boards navigate this transformative age. We also welcome Ms. Doyle, who brings extensive experience in advising corporate secretaries and general counsels in engaging with board members and investors."
"In an era of business innovation and disruption, board members face a plethora of issues executing in the short-term while creating long-term value. In this time of accelerated change, having the right governance and oversight processes in place is paramount. As a board member myself, I understand the challenges that boards face today, and am excited to lead the Center's efforts in the Americas," said Stephen Klemash, Partner, Ernst & Young LLP and Americas Leader, EY Center for Board Matters.
Mr. Klemash began working with the EY Center for Board Matters in 2016 following his role as Managing Partner – Accounts for the Central Region of Ernst & Young LLP and other leadership positions since joining the EY organization in 1984. As Americas Leader of the EY Center for Board Matters, he guides the team in advancing its engagement with boards, committees, individual directors and institutional investors. He also currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Robert Morris University.
Ms. Doyle joins from Morgan Lewis where she advised public and private clients on capital markets transactions, corporate governance, compliance and disclosure matters raised under the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the national securities exchanges. She previously served as a special counsel with the SEC and co-general counsel for a publicly traded global asset management company. Ms. Doyle's experience will further expand the Center's capabilities and help address the needs of corporate secretaries as well as board committees.
