NEW YORK, Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The global EY organization announced that Frank Mahoney has been named EY Americas Vice Chair of Assurance. Mahoney brings nearly 30 years of experience to his new role, having most recently served as the EY Global Audit Transformation and Innovation Leader. Previously, he served as the Managing Partner of the Boston office of Ernst & Young LLP and as the firm's New England Area Industry Leader for EY. Previously, he served as the Managing Partner of the Boston locations and as the New England Area Industry Leader for the Retail, Consumer Products and Industrial Products practices.

Throughout his career, Mahoney has served multi-national companies in the areas of accounting, auditing, and internal controls. Additionally, he has served private middle-market companies and has worked with numerous clients during their IPO journeys.

Additionally, he is an active member of the Boston community, having served on numerous boards including the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Catholic Charities, The United Way of Massachusetts Bay, the Massachusetts Business Roundtable and Junior Achievement. He also currently is a Trustee of Xaverian Brothers High School and the Newton Country Day School.
