(Nasdaq: EXTR) today announced that its high performance cloud and data center solutions were selected as the networking infrastructure of choice by Orixcom, the new Telecommunications and Cloud  platform operator serving the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

FOSS LLC – an Authorized Installer & System Integrator of Extreme Network Switches in the UAE – were chosen to construct Orixcom's network facilities in order for them to provide the region with its first dedicated Cloud platform and connectivity hub, enabling and delivering cloud services that are purpose built to help drive rapid economic growth in today's connected world.

With a 1RU form factor for up to 48 ports and 384 ports in a stacked system, the X480 provides high density for Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), delivering 10 GbE connectivity for up to six ports in one system, and 16 ports in a stacked system.

Orixcom's data center network will be supported by Extreme Networks Ridgeline^TM, a scalable, full-featured network and service management tool simplifying configuration, provisioning, troubleshooting and status monitoring of IP-based networks.
