KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Radial, the leading omnichannel commerce technology and operations provider, today announced Express, Inc., a specialty retailer of women's and men's apparel and accessories, is live with Radial's Fulfillment and Freight services. Fully outsourced fulfillment operations are now managed in Radial's Richwood, Kentucky fulfillment center with space specifically built out to support Express.
Radial's Fulfillment and Freight managed services deliver the scalability, innovation and delivery speed to give retailers and brands a competitive edge. Express is leveraging these capabilities to deliver faster transit times and unencumbered fulfillment regardless of order volumes—during peak season, units shipped can increase as much as ten times compared to an average week.
"Radial has the proven scalability and expertise to support both expected and unexpected volume spikes without impacting the customer experience," shared Steve Nicholas, Director, eCommerce Sales and Operations at Express. "It can do capacity leveling either in the same building or the same campus. In addition, Radial's scale is a positive factor from a transportation perspective for both speed and cost."
Nicholas also indicated Express wanted to partner with a thought leader that would push it to innovate, indicating that distribution advancements in the order fulfillment process is key to ensuring customers continue to receive an exceptional experience when ordering from Express. In September, Radial and Express will be leveraging auto baggers and other freight optimization initiatives to continue to improve packing efficiencies, costs and fulfillment times.
"Radial is partnered with more than 100 retailers and brands to manage their Fulfillment & Freight operations," said Sean McCartney, who recently joined Radial as Executive Vice President Global Operations. "We take the responsibility of maintaining the high standards of our clients very seriously. Whether it be through leveraging Radial's scale, customizing operations and warehouse space or offering our expertise to constantly innovate, we are pleased to partner with Express to collaboratively navigate the ever increasing expectations of its current and future customers."
The addition of McCartney to Radial's executive team adds unique depth and perspective to help Radial deliver operational excellence and constant innovation to its clients like Express. McCartney brings over 20 years of direct retail experience in global supply chain logistics, distribution and operations. In his most recent role as Chico's Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Operations, McCartney led supply chain, global sourcing, logistics, customs, distribution, ecommerce call centers, and omnichannel operations, spanning across more than 1,500 domestic and international locations.
