Analyst Update: Acquisitions, Insider Trading,and Earnings
U.S. stocks advanced on Thursday, recovering from their previous two disappointing sessions, as better than expected weekly jobless claims report boosted sentiment. The NASDAQ Composite gained 0.53%, to close at 4,945.54, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.46%, to 17,924.06, and the S&P 500 ended the day at 2,088.00, up 0.38%. European stocks were mixed on Thursday. Germany's DAX 30 rose 0.51%, while France's CAC 40 and the London's FTSE 100 were down 0.29% and 0.67%, respectively, on Thursday. Meanwhile, Asian markets closed lower on Thursday amid rising concern over a potential policy shift by Chinese stock market regulators. The Shanghai Composite, Australia's S&P ASX and Japan's Nikkei all fell on Thursday.
Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (Image Sensing) announced its fourth quarter results with revenue of $5.7 million, an approximately 13% YoY decline from $6.5 million in Q4 2013. In its release dated March 19, 2015, the Company informed that the revenues were up by 2% excluding the impact of the discontinued Polish operations.
CSG Systems International Inc. (CSG systems) announced its first quarter results on May 5, 2015. The Company's total revenues stood at $185.6 million, down 1.3% YoY from $188.0 million in Q1 2014. The Analysts polled by Thomson had an average expectation of $187.30 million in revenue.
Audience, Inc. (Audience) announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Knowles Corporation. Under the terms of the transaction, Knowles will pay approximately $5.00 per share, with half in cash and half in Knowles common stock subject to a collar on the stock portion of the consideration.
Syntel, Inc. (Syntel) published its form 4 with the SEC (Securities exchange commission) on May 4, 2015. As per the published document, the Executive Vice Chairman of Syntel, Prashant Ranade, completed the sale of 25,000 shares from April 28, 2015 onwards at an average market share price that came in as $45.6.
KEMET Corp. (KEMET) announced its fourth quarter 2015 results ended March 31, 2015. The Company's reported net sales of $193.7 million for Q4 FY 2015 decreased 10.2% YoY compared to net sales of $215.8 million in Q4 FY 2014. On a non-GAAP basis, KEMET reported a net loss of $1.6 million or $0.04 loss per basic and diluted share, compared to a non-GAAP net income of $1.7 million or $0.03 per diluted share in Q4 FY 2014.
