Experts from the FDA and WS Packaging Discuss Nutritional Labeling Changes and How To Master Them at Sept. 27 Webinar
ATLANTA, Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and WS Packaging are hosting a webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 to explain upcoming changes in nutritional labeling and how companies impacted by the new laws can update their packaging simply and easily to avoid costly delays.
The 30-minute webinar "Master the Coming Changes in Nutritional Labeling" will be held at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.
On May 20, 2016, the FDA announced the new Nutrition Facts label for packaged foods to reflect new scientific information, making it easier for consumers to make informed food choices.
The label changes being made are the biggest mandated changes since the inception of the nutritional label more than 20 years ago. This will change packaging layouts for most food products.
"The new guidelines in sizing, layout and content will require a systematic review of the entire package without impacting branding and differentiating graphics," said Charlie Eitel, CEO of WS Packaging. "We're thrilled to partner with the FDA to bring this important information to manufacturers affected by the changes."
The webinar will address:
- Why Nutritional Labels are changing
- Specific label changes including new double and triple column designs
- Change timelines
- WS Packaging capability
- DesignMax as a tool to make seamless and trouble free changes in labeling
Manufacturers will need to use the new label by July 26, 2018. Those with less than $10 million in annual food sales will have an additional year to comply.
