Experiencing Substantial Growth, Casper Launches Sheet Set and Pillow
Sleep startup builds on the continued success of its eponymous mattress by introducing new research-driven products
NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Casper, the startup transforming the sleep industry with its award-winning mattress, announces the launch of a sheet set and pillow, creating a line of universally comfortable sleep products and pioneering the creation of a new sleep-focused category.
Casper is now one of the fastest growing consumer brands of all time. The new sheet set and pillow arrive following a $55M Series B investment in June, and other new milestones — more than 100 full-time employees, 100 thousand Casper owners, and more than $100 million in sales since its launch in April 2014. In addition to current offices in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, several new North American locations and expansion to Europe are on the immediate horizon.

"Casper has focused on reimagining the sleep experience from day one," said Philip Krim, Casper co-founder and CEO. "Our new sheet set and pillow are the result of the continuous research and design process that first led to the development of Casper's namesake mattress. We're proud to respond to the incredible demand for more Casper sleep innovations and take more definitive steps toward becoming the world's first end-to-end sleep brand."
"After months of experimentation and many sleepless nights, our engineers arrived at these fundamentals of sleep," said Jeff Chapin, Casper co-founder and Chief Product Officer. "We analyzed thousands of variations and worked closely with Casper Labs, a dedicated innovation unit of our most enthusiastic customers, who tested prototypes and influenced final iterations."
The Pillow That Stays Comfortable
The new Casper pillow was designed to be perfect for all sleepers. During the research and development process, Casper engineers' suspicions were confirmed: earmarking pillows for specific sleep positions is largely a marketing narrative because most sleepers move from position to position at night. The pillow's buoyant core and plush outer layer combine to support any sleep situation. Because of its minuscule, silky fill fibers — 1/20th the thickness of a human hair — Casper's double-layer pillow doesn't flatten when compressed. Its breathable percale cover enables heat and air to travel freely, keeping sleepers cool and comfortable.
A Perfect Set of Sheets
Given the well-documented fallacy of the importance of thread count, Casper focused instead on thread quality and weave techniques. The result is a sheet made with some of the longest cotton fibers in the world, grown on a farm in California. Extra-long staple Californian Supima cotton is four times stronger than the industry average, which is important in balancing softness and breathability with a weave and thread structure that maintains those benefits wash after wash. Each item in Casper's sheet set has been thoughtfully designed to solve annoying bedding issues. Helpful finishes ensure that Casper's fitted sheet is easy to fold, the duvet cover doesn't bunch, and the pillow stays in its pillowcase. Sheet sets are available in six standard sizes, and will come in two color variations: white on white and white on signature Casper chambray gray.
