The Ann Arbor Art Fairs are composed of four independently juried art fairs taking place simultaneously throughout the city. The overall effect is an exotic bazaar featuring original art work, lively street corner and stage entertainment of every kind, artists' demonstrations, and children's activities, plus a variety of shops featuring great sales.
Ann Arbor's lively downtown dining scene adds unique flavor to the event; named a "Top Midwest Food Town" by Midwest Living magazine in 2009 and 2010, fair-goers are sure to find great food in addition to impressive art.
The Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is sponsoring a trolley service to help fair-goers easily get from one fair to the next. Trolley rides cost $1 for unlimited rides all day. The Bureau has also created a web site to help visitors navigate the fairs at www.artfairs.visitannarbor.org.
The four independent art fairs that make up the Ann Arbor Art Fairs are:
The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair located in the streets surrounding Burton Carillon Tower at North University; the State Street Area Art Fair, located in the center of the action; the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, with two locations on State Street and Main Street and the South University Area Art Fair, filling out the entire South University area.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 21 through Friday, July 23 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 24. For visitor information call 1 – 800 – 888 – 9487 or visit www.artfairs.visitannarbor.org .
