KAUKAUNA, Wis., Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Expera Specialty Solutions announced this week it has successfully completed its annual Chain-of-Custody audit. Expera is certified under the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®), and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) at all four of their Wisconsin facilities.
Consumers increasingly desire guarantees that harvested trees, paper, and wood products come from properly managed sources. Offering FSC®, SFI®, and PEFC certification not only supports customer requirements, it also confirms Expera's sustainability commitment known as SOAR™.
"Following this year's audit we received the feedback from our auditor that Expera is best in practice," explained Ann Funk, Vice President of Procurement & Logistics for Expera. "Our systems are intricate, yet we maintain the highest of standards in managing our entire wood procurement and chain of custody systems and are leading the way to ensuring responsibility not only in our systems, but those of our suppliers."
Additionally, Expera recently created a Group Logger Certification Program through FSC® which empowers loggers and landowners to maintain certification, and assists Expera in procuring the heavy demand of FSC® credits consumers and Expera's customers are requesting.
