Exide Technologies Unveils New Automotive Portfolio Innovations for the Growing Vehicle Demands of Today and Tomorrow at AAPEX 2017

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Exide Technologies (www.exide.com), a global provider of stored energy solutions for the transportation and industrial markets, will be showcasing a renewed automotive product portfolio and technology innovations to power today's modern vehicles and the vehicles of the future at the AAPEX 2017 show in Las Vegas.

The growing electrification of modern vehicles requires batteries to do more than just start a vehicle. With the adoption of start/stop technology and the addition of infotainment systems and advanced safety features, the needs of the electrical system and the battery are significant, creating the demand for premium, more robust batteries.

At the show, Exide will introduce a series of new products that deliver higher battery performance. Making it easier for buyers to identify the right battery for their needs, these products will be marketed in two distinct categories: Power Your Vehicle and Start Your Vehicle.

Power Your Vehicle products will feature the Exide Edge battery family, which includes batteries that provide extra power for vehicle features and accessories and are start/stop compatible. The Edge line includes Exide's existing Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) products as well as the introduction of Exide's Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB) technology.

Start Your Vehicle products will feature the new Exide Excell family. The family will be simplified with two distinct Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) levels meeting Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) requirements and providing the necessary power for cold climate starts.

Exide also will be showcasing several other product enhancements including LifeGrid technology and a flat top battery cover with an integrated handle. The LifeGrid technology enables improved performance, enhanced quality and greater protection with increased starting and reserve power. The innovative flat top design is engineered to provide enhanced leak resistance and features an ergonomic handle that enables ease of installation.
