Exer More Than Urgent Care Opens New Medical Facility In Manhattan Beach
California's fastest growing privately-owned ER alternative is built and staffed by ER Doctors and offers patients more medical services than a typical walk in urgent care.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Exer More Than Urgent Care opened a highly-anticipated new medical center on the South West corner of N Sepulveda Blvd and 33rd Street in Manhattan Beach, CA. Exer is California's fastest growing privately-owned ER alternative that's built and staffed by ER Doctors and offers patients more comprehensive medical services than a typical walk in urgent care.
"Our goal at Exer More Than Urgent Care is to help people feel better, faster, and we are honored to open our doors here Manhattan Beach today," said Rob Mahan, Exer More Than Urgent Care chief executive officer. "We are ready to provide the South Bay with a convenient and affordable alternative to the Emergency Room, ideal for when conditions become urgent or serious but are non-life-threatening."
With on-site X-Ray, IV, Lab, Splinting, Laceration Rooms, Diagnostics and other services, Exer offers patients more comprehensive medical services than a traditional walk in urgent care. Each center is staffed with on-site ER Doctors who have on average over 15 years of experience stabilizing and treating patients in emergency medicine.
"Here in California nearly one-third of all ER visits are not considered to be true medical emergencies. That's why we've carefully designed Exer to combine the best clinical expertise with the comfort, care and convenience people want, when they need it most. At Exer, we can stabilize and treat over 80 percent of cases seen daily in the local ER with far less waiting, and for a fraction of the cost," Mahan added.
Mahan said Exer's expansion to the South Bay would not be possible without the support of their partners at Providence Health & Services.
"Providence is the third largest not-for-profit health care system in the United States and we are working closely with their hospitals to help bring emergency medicine directly in to more communities across Southern California. This partnership helps patients access the level of care they need, while saving time and money, which ultimately eases the strain on local emergency departments in the areas we serve," Mahan added.
"The opening of Exer in Manhattan Beach is a fantastic achievement as we work to increase patients' access to quality and affordable healthcare," said Erik G. Wexler, chief executive, Providence St. Joseph Health, Southern California Region. "We congratulate our partners at Exer and salute their continued efforts to expand medical services in Southern California."
In addition to Manhattan Beach, Exer operates centers in Redondo Beach, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Newbury Park, Northridge, Sherman Oaks and Santa Clarita. Each facility is open seven days-a-week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with little-to-no waiting and last patients are registered daily at 8:30 p.m. Exer accepts most PPOs, most HMOs, Medicare and offers affordable payment options for those with minimal or no health insurance.
