Exelon CEO John Rowe to Give Inaugural Address in New Bipartisan Policy Center 'On Leadership' Speaker Series
Longest-Serving Utility CEO to Discuss Executive Leadership Traits, Keys to Achieving a Clean Energy Future at Lower Cost
WASHINGTON, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) will inaugurate its new "On Leadership" Speaker Series on November 9th with an address by Exelon Chairman and CEO John W. Rowe, the nation's longest-serving chief executive in the rapidly changing utility industry.
Rowe, who plans to retire in early 2012, will look back on his nearly three decades as a key voice on energy and environmental policy and share insights on leading a Fortune 200 company through both economic booms and recessions. He will address the six attributes needed to be a successful leader. Turning to environmental leadership, he will discuss a new analysis showing that by letting competitive electricity markets work and proceeding with planned EPA clean air rules, the nation can achieve its clean energy goals at one-quarter the cost of other politically popular approaches. BPC President Jason S. Grumet will introduce Rowe. The next event in the BPC "On Leadership" Speaker Series will take place in January and feature former Senate Majority Leaders Tom Daschle and Trent Lott.
