COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- It's not every day an alien spacecraft loaded onto an all-terrain military vehicle rolls into town, but that's just what's happening this week at the Ohio State Fair. The fair is the kickoff event for the "Exede Invasion Tour," hitting 11 states this summer and fall.
A UFO-style spacecraft, home to Brian the Alien, will showcase "Exede® — Internet So Fast It Must Be From Outer Space." The service is powered by ViaSat-1, the world's highest capacity satellite, which beams signals from household computers 22,000 miles into space and back.
Fair-goers are invited to visit the exhibit, spin the prize wheel, take a photo with Brian the Alien, talk to an Internet specialist and try the Exede service on a large Windows 8 or Mac desktop, or on an iPad or Samsung tablet.
ViaSat's Exede Internet provides download speeds of 12 Mbps – significantly faster than previous generations of satellite and many DSL services. The service is available in most parts of Ohio, including rural and remote areas across the state.
At a time when many Internet customers are concerned they're not getting the speeds they pay for, the FCC 2014 Measuring Broadband America report reflects that an Exede subscriber paying for 12 Mbps download speeds has a good chance of getting at least 17 Mbps. For the second consecutive year, Exede Internet led other internet services, including cable, fiber and DSL, in surpassing advertised speeds.

Introductory service offer: Available for duration of fair. Details available at demo area.
