Wood explained how the Board and senior officials created an "innovative plan" and "cut through government red tape" to develop Recovery.gov and the state-of-the art Recovery Operations Center. Recovery.gov is the public website on which data from recipients of economic stimulus funds is posted each quarter. The operations center serves as the Board's principal oversight tool for the $840 billion Recovery program.
"Not everything went smoothly but in the end we accomplished the task in what for government amounted to light speed," Wood wrote in his blog.
