SunEdison Inc. Analyst Notes
On February 26, 2014, SunEdison Inc. (SunEdison) announced the closing of a non-recourse debt financing arrangement with Deutsche Bank. SunEdison informed that the debt proceeds are intended to be used in financing the construction of 56MW portfolio of four utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar projects in the UK. The portfolio is expected to be fully operational by the end of March 2014. In addition, the Company also announced that Foresight Solar Fund Limited - a £150 million investment company managed by Foresight Group, will acquire the entire portfolio of projects once interconnected through a Share Repurchase Agreement (SPA). "We are entering the UK solar market with a project portfolio while expanding our relationship with Deutsche Bank, this demonstrates our ability to utilize existing relationships to enter new markets and facilitate the expansion of our utility business without impacting our balance sheet," said Jose Perez, President of EMEA and Latin America at SunEdison. On March 4, 2014, Avago Technologies Limited (Avago) announced a new Polarization-Multiplexed Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (PM-QPSK) coherent receiver device, the AFCP-ICRX2CC. The Company informed that the second generation receiver is designed for 100G metropolitan and emerging 200G/400G long haul DWDM transmission systems, and despite being only one-third the size of its previous generation, it offers more functionality to enable smaller size transceiver or optical line card solutions in colorless coherent networks.
