Executive Appointment at Ilitch Holdings, Inc.

DETROIT, Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The appointment of Stanford P. (Stan) Berenbaum to Vice President and General Counsel for Ilitch Holdings, Inc., was announced today by Christopher Ilitch, president and CEO of the company.  Mr. Berenbaum, who has over 20 years experience as an attorney, general counsel, franchise and business executive, will report to Christopher Ilitch in this new role.

"I am very pleased that Stan has accepted this position and I know he will be a great addition to our team," said Christopher Ilitch.  "Stan not only brings his legal expertise, but strong leadership, business and people skills as well."  In this role, Mr. Berenbaum will oversee all legal services for Ilitch Holdings, Inc.  The Human Resources function, led by Joni Nelson, vice president of Human Resources for Ilitch Holdings, will also report to him.

Born in Detroit, Mr. Berenbaum began his career in 1991 as a member of the antitrust, trade regulation and franchising group at the Honigman Miller law firm.  He joined Little Caesars in 1998 and became Vice President and General Counsel and held that position until 2005 when he became President of American Leak Detection, Inc., an international service-based franchisor, and later Chief Executive Officer of its parent, Water Intelligence, PLC.  

Mr. Berenbaum is a member of the state bars of Michigan and California and is licensed to practice law before a variety of courts including the U.S. Sixth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Mr. Berenbaum received his B.A. with honors in political science and his J.D. from Wayne State University where he was also assistant editor of the Wayne Law Review.  He also received a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.  Additionally, Mr. Berenbaum has authored and spoken on a number of legal, business and franchising topics.  

Mr. Berenbaum is married and has two children.  His appointment to this position is effective November 10, 2011.
