Veteran Executive Gail Marcus Joins Firm As Partner
BOSTON, March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran healthcare executive Gail Marcus has joined Exceptional Leaders International (E.L.I.) as a partner in its growing healthcare group. The move is an expansion of E.L.I's services in this area, according to Janice DiPietro, CEO of this leading firm of business transformation experts.

Marcus has more than 30 years experience in the healthcare field. She spent the first 20 years of her career with CIGNA in multiple leadership roles, including corporate treasurer, customer service director, product manager, transformation leader, and program manager. She ultimately led a turnaround of a CIGNA European subsidiary as its CEO. Marcus also held other senior positions for United Health Group and Advanced PCS/ Caremark.
She has been CEO of two venture-backed diagnostic labs, with success growing organizations internally and through mergers and acquisitions, and has experience with turnaround situations, including corporate integrity agreements and associated compliance requirements.
As a consultant, she has worked with large physician practices and regional hospital systems in a wide variety of improvement and transformation activities.
Marcus holds an MBA from Wharton, a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Health Administration. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut and Northeastern University.
A breast cancer survivor, Marcus serves on the board of The Southern New England affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She is a board member of Engineering World Health, a non-profit dedicated to working in underdeveloped countries
